DO MAJOR CORPORATIONS COMMIT CRIMES? |
The story above, found in the L.A. Times on May 11, 2007, is but the tip of the iceberg when it comes to corporate fruad. Can you imagine the amount of money that they must have taken in, if they agreed to a penalty of $634.5 million in penalties, as well as $19.5 million to 26 states and they still had 24 states to settle with. So far, it adds up to $655 million. It takes more than just a few people at the Corporate level to pull of such deceit, or scams, or frauds, or whatever you want to call them. By the time they've been "outed" they've made so much money that the government can never hope to come up with the proper estimate. Just read the business section of your local paper or the Wall Street Journal to answer this question. |

| We have to look at our national disease, GREED, and think about what people will risk, such as all the years they've spent studying and building an exemplary record, then to stand accursed of a massive fraud. in which their careers and homes, their savings, can all go down the drain. Yet, it is done all the time. This conspiracy involved hundreds of people, and one surgeon performed 30 operations in a single day, 44 on one weekend. All surgery has a risk factor, but some of the procedures performed on patients in this investigation were especially risky. |
